The Open Door
Sometimes, God opens a door when we least expect it.
One ordinary day, I called GoDaddy with a few technical questions. A young woman answered and introduced herself. Her name immediately caught my attention — it was the same as my childhood best friend, someone I’m still close to. I laughed and asked how she spelled it. That simple question became God’s open door.
As our conversation unfolded, Malia shared a positive story from her workplace. I replied, “That sounds like something God would do! Do you happen to be a Christian?”
“Yes,” she said warmly. “God is with me every day.”
Then, she paused and added something unexpected. “Gail, I looked at your website and noticed it focuses on your books. After talking with you, I think you should create a small site that shows who you are, your vision, and how you help others through your wisdom and teachings.”
I sat in awe. How could a stranger capture my heart’s desire so precisely? Only God could have inspired her words. I knew instantly — this was His answer to my prayers for guidance and direction.
The next day, Malia sent me a thoughtful follow-up email. She ended with, “I’m super excited to see your vision become reality.”
My response was simple: It’s not just my vision — it’s God’s vision through Malia.

I had been praying for clarity, asking God to show me the next step. Then, He opened the door — and Malia walked right through it.
